Jadee Hanson

Hanson has made her mark as the CISO and CIO of Code42, a leader in insider risk management.
Recognized for her expertise and leadership, Hanson has received numerous accolades, including being named a Women in Security: PowerPlayer and a Black Unicorn—Top 10 Women in Cybersecurity. Her co-authorship of “Inside Jobs: Why Insider Risk Is the Biggest Cyber Threat You Can’t Ignore” highlights her contribution to advancing the understanding of insider threats, a crucial aspect of cybersecurity.
Chani Simms

She utilized her extensive knowledge of information security and data protection to become a vital advisor for C-suite leaders, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises.
Starting her career while completing a computer science degree, Simms has evolved into a virtual CISO and founded SHe CISO Exec., a platform dedicated to training and mentoring in the cybersecurity industry.
Her work reflects a commitment to enhancing cybersecurity resilience and nurturing the next generation of female cybersecurity professionals.
Kemba Walden

Kemba Walden stands out for her impactful role as Acting National Cyber Director in the Office of the National Cyber Director, following her eight-month tenure as Principal Deputy National Cyber Director.
In these capacities, she co-led the organization, steering its development and accomplishments, including the release of the National Cybersecurity Strategy and execution of Executive Order 14028.
Notably, under her guidance, the office spearheaded the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy. Previously, Walden contributed significantly at Microsoft, both as Assistant General Counsel in the Digital Crimes Unit, initiating its Ransomware Program, and as Senior Counsel for Cyber and Democracy, offering legal counsel during the 2020 election.
Her government service also includes a decade at the Department of Homeland Security, underscoring her dedication to enhancing cybersecurity and democracy.

RW2 is a non-profit, nontraditional school known for its rigorous but student-centered information security program.

Kathy
What inspired you to start learning about cybersecurity, and what do you hope to achieve in your studies?
I was interested in pursuing a technical career. Since I enjoy analyzing and solving problems, I knew cybersecurity was the right choice for me. At the end of the program, I will be equipped with the necessary skills to be an asset to any organization seeking data protection.
In your opinion, what is one of the biggest threats to cybersecurity today, and why?
I believe there are several threats. With the advancement in technology, there has been a rise in the fraudulent techniques used to infiltrate systems.
Can you explain what cybersecurity means to you and why it’s important?
Protecting data from unauthorized access, exposure, and destruction. Information should be kept within the parameters of its intended use. Companies should feel reassured that services they provide to consumers are protected. Everything from banking services, paying bills, shopping, and a host of other activities that include personal information are conducted online. It is important that everyone has peace of mind when using the internet and know that organizations are taking the necessary steps to protect their personal information.
Why did you choose to enroll in the RW2 Cybersecurity program?
I wanted a well-organized, comprehensive program that was led by an instructor.
Looking ahead, what are your professional aspirations in cybersecurity after completing your studies at RW2?
I want to make a difference by utilizing my education and skills!
Are there specific sectors within cybersecurity that interest you more than others?
I have not selected a specific sector at this time. There are a few more months left in the program.
Cynthia Garcia-Campos
In your opinion, what is one of the biggest threats to cybersecurity today, and why?
The biggest threat in cybersecurity is the unknown. We don’t know when an attack can happen or when threat agents develop something new to retrieve our sensitive data.
Why did you choose to enroll in the RW2 Cybersecurity program?
I enrolled in RW2 because I wanted a teacher who will take the time to answer my questions, make diagrams, and also provide their own experience in cybersecurity. Shout out to Mr. Melendez, best teacher.
Looking ahead, what are your professional aspirations in cybersecurity after completing your studies at RW2?
After completing my studies I would love to take my career into being an ethical hacker. I want to become a pentester, threat hunter, and bug bounty professional.
Lorena Lopez
What inspired you to start learning about cybersecurity, and what do you hope to achieve in your studies?
I worked for an employer that introduced me to more cybersecurity type of work. I did a lot of things on the back end for my role in the workforce dept and I just fell in love with it.
In your opinion, what is one of the biggest threats to cybersecurity today, and why?
One of the biggest threats may be just the simple fact that technology is advancing rapidly, leaving more systems vulnerable for an attack.
Can you explain what cybersecurity means to you and why it’s important?
Cybersecurity means protecting all things cyber, protecting our future. It’s important because I believe, as I’m sure most do as well, eventually everything we know will be straight tech based.
Why did you choose to enroll in the RW2 Cybersecurity program?
I chose to enroll because I was excited for the opportunity presented first off, but also because I know that I am capable of learning said skill set and applying it with an opportunity to give me and my children a better life.
Looking ahead, what are your professional aspirations in cybersecurity after completing your studies at RW2?
I would like to secure a stable job within the workforce department in security administration

Roles that are based more within security admin.
