Celebrating the Dedication and Resilience of RW2 Teachers

At RW2, our instructors embody the very essence of dedication and resilience, traits that are fundamental to our mission. This World Teachers’ Day, we are particularly proud to highlight the extraordinary efforts of educators like Samraje (Sam) Rana, our Lead Drafting and Design Instructor. His expertise and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the careers of countless students, setting them on paths toward success in the Global Design and .AEC industries.

Dr. Lynn Miller and Erica Anderson both teach Soft and Job Search Skills bringing invaluable lessons in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving to the classroom. Their ability to impart these essential skills support students to be  well-rounded professionals, ready to tackle the challenges of the modern workplace.  Their work also ensures that students are not just technically proficient but also equipped with the tools needed to navigate the job market effectively. Their guidance in resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies has proven invaluable for many seeking to enter or advance in their careers.

A.J. Minerva, Chris Partee and Sandra Bowden, who specialize in Revit/BIM and/or CADD are champions of practical, hands-on learning. They understand the importance of bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, and their teaching methods reflect this commitment.

Dr. John Horn, our Lead Instructor in Cybersecurity, along with Michael Melendez, also instructors in Cybersecurity, are tireless advocates for a secure and innovative future. Their work not only educates but also inspires students to think critically and stay ahead in rapidly evolving industries.

Supporting Students Through Short-Term Education and Training

Our short-term education and training programs at RW2 are designed to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in high-demand industries. By offering courses that are both intensive and practical, students are well-prepared for the challenges of the workforce.

Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)

In our 14-week CADD program, students engage in classes, with live instruction, twice a week, utilizing Zoom for interactive learning. This program focuses on developing proficiency in drafting and design software, providing hands-on experience that is essential for careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Course materials and assignments are accessible via the learning platform-Moodle, allowing students to review lessons and submit their work conveniently.

Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM)

The 15-week Revit for Building Information Modeling course follows a similar structure, with live sessions twice a week conducted via Zoom. This program emphasizes the use of Revit software to create detailed building models, a crucial skill for those pursuing careers in the design and construction sectors. Moodle serves as the platform for accessing resources and completing assignments, supporting online learning.

Cybersecurity

Our 24-week Cybersecurity program offers live instruction three days a week. This course prepares students for careers in information security and the Security+ exam, focusing on identifying threats and protecting data and networks from cyber threats. Zoom facilitates real-time interaction with instructors. The program also uses CompTIA’s Security Pro curriculum in addition to RW2’s emphasis on basic Python programming. 

Through these programs, RW2 remains committed to providing accessible and impactful education that meets the needs of both students interested in and employers in the tech industry.
